Bible Reading Marathon

FRIDAY 24th JUNE – MONDAY 27th JUNE 2011

To mark the successful completion of the restoration of St Magnus Church, and to celebrate the anniversary of the dedication of the church in 1864, we are planning a continuous Bible Reading Marathon starting between 4 and 4.30pm on Friday 24th June. This will culminate on Monday 27th June at 7.30pm, with a Celebration Service followed by a reception in the church hall.

Holy Week 2012

Palm Sunday 1 April

  • Eucharist at 10:45am
  • Evening Prayer at 6.30pm

Morning Prayer Wednesday 4 April at 7:30am

Maundy Thursday 5 April

Sung Eucharist at 8 pm with stripping the altar. The service is followed by “The Watch” which will conclude at 10 pm

Good Friday Service 6 April

Noon - 3 pm “Prayers at the Cross”
(Come for all or for a portion of the service.)

Easter Eve Vigil Eucharist 7 April

8:30pm - 9:30pm
Lighting of the Bonfire, Blessing the Easter Candle and renewing Baptism vows

Easter Morning 8 April

Sung Eucharist for Easter at 10:45 am
Following the service there will be an Easter Egg hunt and a blessing of the Easter Garden
